This is Week Nineteen

Description of the Lesson:  The students will use the desktop publishing skills they have learned throughout this unit to create a card with a mystery message.  The students will practice more advanced text and layout techniques while completing the design of their cards.

Materials:  Students will be using a template for PrintArtist 15.0 titled "card.gc".

Skills Covered will include:

• Open the PrintArtist Template from the desktop

• Select the graphic (click on the object)

• Zoom in on the graphic

• Zoom out to view the entire page

• Resize the graphic

• Insert a background

• Advance to the next page of the desktop publishing project

• Delete text frames not needed

• Move objects on the page

• Select text

• Edit text

• Change the color of text

• Flip text

• Change the font of the text

• Change the effect of the text

• Access the graphics library

• Choose "Keyword" for selecting graphics

• Find pictures of "detectives" and select a graphic

• Insert a border

• Save your work to a disk

• Print your work

• Exit the program

• Fold and create your mystery card

• Read the mystery message
