This is Week Thirty

Description of the Lesson:  The Third - Fifth Grade students will be completing their personal web page. They will make any final changes before saving the file to their disks and submitting them for grading.

The web pages they create will be loaded and then linked from their classroom web page.

* If their parents have signed and returned the proper permission slip.

**New permission slips will be sent home with students still needing one on in the technology lab.

The students will also begin and introduction to Electronic Portfolios.  We will be viewing a sample elementary portfolio and discussing the processes involved in creating a personal electronic protfolio.

Kindergarten - Enrichment:  Students will work with the Kidspiration Program to complete an activity titled, "What do they mean?"  The students will match graphics with the written signs.

First Grade - Enrichment:  The first grade enrichment group will not meet this week.  They will be dismissing early for Conferences on Monday during our regularly scheduled meeting time.

Second  - Third Grade Enrichment:  The students will be working with touch typing today at the beginning of the lesson.  Once they have completed their typing lesson for the day, they will visit the Internet to work on educational games from gamequarium.com.  They will work with time or money activities from the web site.

Fourth - Grade Enrichment:  The students will be working on their electronic portfolio projects.  They will work on the title and main menu page of their portfolio.  We will also look at scanning documents to a disk for adding to their portfolios.

Fifth - Grade Enrichment:  The students will be working on a report for a topic they are currently studying in their regular classroom.  They will use the report format to construct a PowerPoint presentation for the topic of their report to be shared with their classroom.

News Crew Staff Meeting:  The news crew will not meet this week.  They will be dismissing early for Conferences on Monday during our regularly scheduled meeting time.

  Newspaper Staff Meeting:  We will review key vocabulary terms and newspaper departments.  We will do the activity page, "The News Department" together.  The students will complete worksheets for the news, editorial, feature, sports, and entertainment sections of the paper for the weekly assignment to bring back next week.  Students will also complete the extension activities for the Editorial Section worksheet. 

Yearbook Staff Meeting:  The staff will not meet this week.
