This is Week Thirty - Five

Description of the Lesson:  The students will get to tour the school web site and view the new changes.  We will take a look at the "Web Page Yearbook" to see the photos of the year.  I will be discussing the site with them and how they can locate it from home computers.  We will also discuss the software order forms and various software that is offered that we have in the lab.

Materials:  The students will be using the web browser, Internet Explorer.

Skills Covered will include:

• Launch the program we will be using for class today

• Maximize the screen

• Browse the Internet to look at the school web site

• Exit a program

Kindergarten Enrichment:  Students will work with Kidspiration to complete a graphic organizer.  They will print and take their project home with them.

First Grade Enrichment:  Students will work with the Kid Pix Deluxe 3 software.  They will review adding a background, graphics, text, or stamps to their work.  They will also explore adding sound to their picture using the music library with the program.

Second  - Third Grade Enrichment:  The students will be working with Typing Master to practice their touch typing skills. 

Fourth Grade Enrichment:  The students will be working on their electronic portfolio projects.  They will work on completing the title, main menu, title for the cover letter, and about me slides of their portfolio.  We will also look at scanning documents to a disk for adding to their portfolios.

Fifth Grade Enrichment:  The students will be completing work on their topic they are currently studying in their regular classroom.  They will share their final PowerPoint Presentation with the class.  We will copy their presentation on a disk for them take back to their class and share with their class.

News Crew Staff Meeting:  We will be looking at recordings of the news to discuss ways to improve our show and correct some of the mistakes we see in the video tape.

  Newspaper Staff Meeting:  Students will be discussing the assignments they have completed.  Students will turn in their assignments!

Yearbook Staff Meeting:  No meeting today.
