| Classes will begin with an overview of the FutureKids Program. We will discuss the 10 technology areas: applied technology, databases. desktop publishing, graphics, multimedia, the Internet, operating environments, programming, spreadsheets, and word-processing. Skills in these area will be required to complete projects as the children explore technology in the program. We will also discuss the parts of a cpmuter and view a graphic to help identify the various parts (monitor, keyboard, mouse, cpu, and mouse pad.)Read Journeys in Technology - Operation Futurekids Lesson 1: "Log On: Pink PC"Lesson One - The students are introduced to basic text and graphics features of desktop publishing as they learn to move, resize, and delete frames while creating a cover page for the projects they will complete during the unit. The pupils will then learn more advanced text and graphics skills to enhance their cover pages.
Students will take a note home for their parents to introduce the Unit
"Log On" and a rubric checklist of skills covered in the unit. |
