This is Week Eleven
Description of the Lesson:
By using their desktop publishing skills, the children uncover the meaning
of a secret coded message. Proper disk-handling techniques are
practiced as they open a file containing a picture of gold treasure, then
decorate the scene. The pupils add more graphic images and apply
advanced layout skills to complete their pictures.
Materials: The students will be using
Print Artist 15.0. They will also use a Template
titled "code.sgn" and "gold.sgn". The students will also be
using their 3 1/2 Floppy Disk.

use codes everyday to communicate: the alphabet is a code that stands
for different sounds

(find the icon on the desktop and activate by double clicking)

Define floppy disk - also
called a disk, is used to hold computer files. A disk is like a
sandwich, but instead of bread on the outside, the disk has square
pieces of plastic to protect the inside. On the inside of the disk
is a dark, think, round, flat piece of material. This is where
computer information is saved.
