Biography:

Odvard Egil Dyrli, Emeritus Professor of Education at the University of Connecticut, is senior editor and Web editor for District Administration magazine, and a Trustee of Messiah College in Grantham, PA. Dr. Dyrli directed the annual District Administration Curriculum Web Site Awards program; was a columnist, editor and feature writer for Technology & Learning magazine; co-director of the Technology & Learning Professional Development Institute; and columnist and editor for Learning magazine. He coordinated a university-sponsored teacher professional development center cited in Newsweek, served as science/technology facilitator for a consortium of four Connecticut school systems, and directed a federally-funded curriculum implementation project with nineteen school districts. “Gil” is an author of three teacher-education texts for Prentice-Hall Inc., three staff development courses distributed internationally, and more than 300 articles. He has presented technology conference keynotes and teacher education workshops throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe; directed the original Learning Computer Software Awards program (now the Technology & Learning “Awards of Excellence”); and collaborated on three network children's television programs, including the Emmy-award-winning Schoolhouse Rock on ABC-TV.
