Hot Springs Intermediate School (HSIS) focuses on educating the whole child using the IB (International Baccalaureate) philosophy. The aim for all IB programs is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet help to create a better and more peaceful world. The Middle Years Program (MYP), which is for all students in grades 5th through 10th, is a philosophy of teaching that emphasizes the inquiry method. It promotes genuine understanding and challenges students to engage in the study of universal ideas. Although all students in HSIS participate in the IB MYP, they are also required to meet Hot Springs School District and Arkansas State Standards.
