A+ Program
After School Academics, Activities, and Adventures
The Langston A+ After-School Program is the result of a grant awarded to the Hot Springs School District to establish "21st Century Community Learning Centers". Our center remains open following the regular school day from 3:15 - 5:15, Monday through Thursday. The goal of our center is to provide a safe environment for students after regular school hours. Every day students are involved in academic enrichment and remediation. Students also participate in activities such as: art, dance, music, drama, aerobics, literature, science experiments, library, physical health, technology, aerospace & environmental studies, character education, television production, and peer counseling. The after-school staff includes Langston personnel, as well as many parent and community volunteers. During the 2000-2001 school year, we have served 156 students.
