What a wonderful first quarter in the HSSD! Thank you to all of our families who took the time to attend Parent-Teacher Conferences. Your involvement and support make a difference in our students' success, and we are grateful for our incredible Trojan families! Now it's time for a well-deserved break! We wish all of our students, families, teachers, and staff a relaxing, fun-filled Fall Break. Enjoy this time to rest, recharge, and make memories. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, October 19!

Trojan Theatre Presents The Outsiders

Mark your calendars as Trojan Theatre proudly presents The Outsiders, October 22–24, with performances beginning at 6 p.m. each evening.

Based on S.E. Hinton’s beloved coming-of-age novel, The Outsiders tells the story of Ponyboy Curtis and the struggles between two rival groups—the Greasers and the Socs—as they navigate friendship, family, loyalty, loss and the challenges of growing up.

Now, our Trojan Theatre students are bringing this classic story to the stage! We hope our families and community will join us to support our talented student performers and crew.

First Trojans Love Reading is Oct. 23

Calling all parents, guardians, and grandparents! Join us on Friday, October 23, at 1:30 p.m. at any of our four elementary schools for a special afternoon of reading with our students! There's no better way to inspire a lifelong love of reading than by sharing a good book with a child. We'll provide the books—all we need is YOU! If you'd like to participate, please RSVP to your child's teacher or email hoytj@hssd.net.

Pumpkin Light Night Set for October 27

Pumpkin Light Night is back, and it’s going to be frightfully fun for the whole family! Join us on Tuesday, October 27, from 4–6 p.m. at Joe Reese Stadium for an evening filled with entertainment, games, decorated pumpkins, food, and plenty of fall fun. You’ll also have a chance to connect with HSSD schools and programs and learn more about everything happening across our district.

Best of all, admission is FREE, except for purchases from the food trucks. And if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ve got you covered with a rain date of Wednesday, October 28, from 4–6 p.m.

Grab the family, bring your Halloween spirit, and come celebrate fall at Pumpkin Light Night!

Golf Tournament Planned for October 16

Looking for a fun way to spend the Friday of Fall Break? Grab three friends, dust off the clubs and hit the course for the Hot Springs Trojans 4-Man Scramble Golf Tournament on Friday, October 16, at Balboa Golf Course in Hot Springs Village!

Teams of four can enter for $300, and the tournament tees off with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Whether you’re playing to win, playing for bragging rights or just looking for a great day on the course, this is a perfect way to enjoy Fall Break while supporting Trojan Athletics.

Gingerbread and Snow Baby Performance Opportunity

We are excited to open registration for a performance opportunity in this year's Hot Cocoa Nutty Nutcracker for students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Kindergarten and first-grade students will be snow babies, while second- through fourth-grade students will be gingerbreads, with our celebrity guest performer, Mrs. Stephanie Goodman! Performances are Dec. 11 and 12.

Space is extremely limited. The registration fee is $75, but scholarships are available if needed.

Pee Wee Basketball Registration Now Open

It's time to register for Pee Wee Basketball! Students in grades 3 - 6 are invited to play. Please fill out this form and return it to your school, or follow this link to register and pay online.

Pee Wee Soccer Registration Now Open

Students in grades 1-6 who are interested in playing soccer can sign up for Pee Wee Soccer now through October 23. The registration fee is $35.

Practice will be every Tuesday and Thursday starting November 3 and running through November 19.
