Dear Trojan Families,

It's going to be a spooktacular week! So much is happening October 26–30, and we can't wait to celebrate with our Trojan families! The highlight of the week is Pumpkin Light Night on Tuesday, October 27, but the fun doesn't stop there! We'll celebrate Red Ribbon Week with activities that promote healthy, drug-free choices, enjoy Halloween parties on Friday, October 30, and wrap up the week under the Friday night lights as our Trojans host Camden Fairview for their final home football game of the season! We'll also honor our senior cheerleaders, dancers, band members, and football players before kickoff. It's a week full of fun, school spirit, and Trojan pride! Join Us for Pumpkin Light Night Set on Oct. 27

Pumpkin Light Night is back, and it’s going to be frightfully fun for the whole family! Join us on Tuesday, October 27, from 4–6 p.m. at Joe Reese Stadium for an evening filled with entertainment, games, decorated pumpkins, food, and plenty of fall fun. You’ll also have a chance to connect with HSSD schools and programs and learn more about everything happening across our district.

Best of all, admission is FREE, except for purchases from the food trucks. And if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ve got you covered with a rain date of Wednesday, October 28, from 4–6 p.m.

Grab the family, bring your Halloween spirit, and come celebrate fall at Pumpkin Light Night!

Superintendent's Parent Council is Oct. 29

Parents and guardians, you're invited to join us for our next Superintendent's Parent Council on Thursday, October 29, from 8–9 a.m. in the Langston Elementary Library! Enjoy Dunkin' coffee and donuts while catching up with Superintendent Dr. Mike Hernandez on the latest HSSD news, updates, and exciting things happening across our District. It's a great opportunity to stay informed, connect, and be heard. We hope to see you there.

It's Red Ribbon Week

Join us in celebrating Red Ribbon Week and encouraging our students to make healthy, drug-free choices! We ask all staff and students to wear RED on Tuesday, October 27, to show support for a drug-free future. Our Drug-Free Youth Coalition will be taking photos of staff wearing red, and families attending Pumpkin Light Night are encouraged to stop by the coalition's booth for a group photo!

Together, we can be positive role models and help keep our students and community healthy and drug-free!

Lady Trojan Softball Tryouts Are Coming

Ready to hit the field? Lady Trojan Softball Tryouts are open to all 9th–12th grade students!

Tryout Schedule:

Returning Players: Nov. 3, 3:30–4:30 p.m.
New Players: Nov. 4, 3:30–4:30 p.m. and Nov. 5, 3:30–5 p.m.
Team Rosters Posted: Nov. 6
Practice Begins: Nov. 9

Don't miss the deadline! Coach Williams has sign-up forms available at the High School, and Coach Lawson has them at HSJA.

Return completed forms to the coaches by Wednesday, October 28.

All players must have a current physical on file or bring one to tryouts. No late tryouts will be offered.

Boys Pee Wee Basketball Tryouts Tomorrow

It's time to register for Pee Wee Basketball! Students in grades 3 - 6 are invited to play. Please fill out this form and return it to your school, or follow this link to register and pay online.

Boys tryouts/sign ups are TOMORROW, Monday, Oct. 26.

Location: High School practice gym and Safe Room Gym

Grades 3 & 4: 6 - 7 pm

Grades 5 & 6: 7 - 8 pm

Girls just need to return the form to their schools.
