The Hot Springs School District closely monitors weather conditions throughout the winter months. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority, and when winter weather could affect road conditions, we remain in constant contact with city and state officials.ย
How Decisions Are Made
District officials review road conditions across the area and monitor updated weather forecasts before making any decisions. We also work closely with the other area school districts, law enforcement, and city officials.ย

Inclement Weather Days ๐๏ธ
Hot Springs School District has five inclement weather days built into the school calendar on the following dates:
- February 18 - 20
- April 24
- May 22
If school must close due to winter weather, these days will be used as make-up days.
If no closures occur before a scheduled inclement-weather day, students and staff will not attend school on that date.
Important Reminder About AMI Days
Under the Arkansas LEARNS Act, schools may no longer use AMI (Alternative Methods of Instruction) days to count toward required instructional time. Any missed school days due to weather or emergencies must be made up in person using the inclement weather days included in the district calendar.
Hot Springs School District is committed to keeping families informed, prepared, and safe. Thank you for your support as we work together to protect every student during winter weather conditions. โ๏ธ
