Kindergarten Registration

HSSD Kindergarten Registration opens April 1, 2024! Please join us April 1 at the HSSD Welcome Center located at 702 Main Street between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to register your incoming kindergarten student at any of our four magnet elementary schools. Registration packets will be provided for you at the Welcome Center, or you can print one by scrolling below. We also invite you to attend a Kindergrten Round Up (Open House) event at each elementary school throughout April; find all dates below.

*Incoming Trojan kindergarten students must be 5 years of age on or before August 1, 2024.

>>Please be advised, in addition to the packet above, you must also provide the following items (please) to complte a student’s registration: 1) Copy of Birth Certificate; 2) Copy of Social Security Card; 3) Shot Records; 4) Proof of residency (which may include a gas, electric, or water utility bill OR rent receipt OR lease agreement with a current date).  A student’s registration is only complete once these items have been received.

Langston Elementary Leadership Academy: Kindergarten Registration

Magnet School Theme: 

As a Leadership Academy Magnet School, Langston focuses on community awareness, communication, health and wellness, environment, service, and hospitality. Educators combine core curriculum with activities and events that promote leadership skills and service-minded attitudes.

Magnet School Theme:

MVPA ensures a high quality education enriched by visual and performing arts opportunities and electives including an annual Jr. Broadway production, choir, show choir, band, strings, jazz, tap, ballet, hands-on art activities, and more. This magnet school is renowned in the Hot Springs area for offering drama, art, and music opportunities, as well as student performances that impact the entire community.

Magnet School Theme:

As a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) Magnet School, Oaklawn STEM provides students with an innovative, technology-rich learning environment where they experience and communicate literacy, mathematics, science, and engineering as an integral part of everyday life. Oaklawn STEM is among only a select group of Arkansas elementary schools to offer EAST at the elementary level. It is also the only HSSD elementary school to offer two robotics clubs, and STEM Day events each semester for all students.
