ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

 

“ESOL” stands for English for Speakers of Other Languages. The mission of the Hot Springs School District ESOL Program is to assure that ALL English Learners have the tools to be successful in a global society, to enrich English Learners in all aspects, and to communicate with others by improving language skills, self confidence and cultural awareness as quickly and efficiently as possible.

ESOL Program Objectives:

  • Students should attain language proficiency in a timely manner based on the English Language Proficiency Assessment or ELPA21.
  • Student growth in academic content areas that is measured with non-EL students in a timely manner.
